PROPERTY MANAGEMENT

Overview

As a student enrolled in the Professional Diploma in Commercial Property Management, you will be asked to develop and present a comprehensive property management report designed for landlords/owners that demonstrates your overall understanding of the operations side of the business. You will develop the final work product as you move through and complete the courses, with each course focusing on the concepts and specifics for one section of the report. The work product will be submitted and presented to industry professionals at the completion of the four courses for the final assessment.

  • The ability to develop a property management services strategy for a potential client/owner
  • An understanding of budget and accounting for commercial properties
  • An understanding of landlord/tenant rules and regulations
  • The ability to evaluate and administer a commercial lease agreement
  • The skills to create and present a detailed management report
  • The ability to interpret and prepare an operating expense escalation and a real estate tax escalation schedule
  • An understanding of operational best practices and preventative maintenance work
